How to Choose the Right Power Bank

Published February 10, 2026 · Buying Guide

A power bank is only useful if it matches how you actually use your devices. Buy too small and it dies before your phone is full; buy the wrong ports and it charges slowly. Here's how to pick the right one.

1. Capacity (mAh) — how much charge it holds

2. Output wattage — how fast it charges

Look for USB-C Power Delivery (PD). 18–22.5W is fine for phones, while 45–65W lets you fast-charge tablets and even some laptops.

3. Ports

Make sure it has the right mix of USB-C and USB-A ports for your devices, and that it can charge more than one device at a time if you need it to.

4. Pass-through & safety

Quick recommendation

For most people, a 10,000 mAh power bank with USB-C PD is the best balance of size, speed and price. Browse our current selection below.
